Hamilton Harbour Fishing Derby
Saturday August 16th, 2008
8:00 AM to 1:00 PM

The Hamilton Waterfront Trust is organizing this years Hamilton Harbour Fishing Derby on August 16th. This "Catch and Release" derby includes prizes for various categories of fish, and is focused on fun and education.
Trout Unlimited Canada will have a booth set up at the event, and is looking for volunteers from the Ted Knott Chapter to help out and tell people about the work we do in the Hamilton region.

Check Your Watershed Day

Conservation Halton is looking for volunteers to participate in Check Your Watershed Day on Saturday July 19th. The Ted Knott Chapter of Trout Unlimited Canada encourages its members to participate in this one day study of Bronte Creek which will provide valuable data about low flow levels of this watershed.

 
Bronte Creek Workday
Sunday May 4th, 2008
Our first workday of 2008 involved planting small shrubs and trees to create a riparian buffer zone for a section of Bronte Creek where a pond has been removed.
Volunteers from Trout Unlimited, Conservation Halton, and GE Water  & Process Technologies all helped to plant more than 300 trees which will soon provide shade and cover along this barren stream bank.

Bronte Creek Clean Up

In a cooperative effort with the Credit River Anglers Association and the Ted Knott Chapter of Trout Unlimited, volunteers spent their day cleaning up public access points to Bronte Creek.

Lake Ontario Atlantic Salmon Restoration Program Open House
October 26th, 2006
The partners in the Lake Ontario Atlantic Salmon Restoration Program held an Open House at Appleby Arena to provide information about the program, and the plans to reintroduce Atlantic Salmon to Bronte Creek. Ted Knott Chapter President Bill Christmas along with Ontario Executive Director Len Yust participated with a presentation about Trout Unlimited Canada activities within the Halton Region.
