Protecting cold water resources in Hamilton Wentworth and Halton Regions

Home Projects News Schedule Chapter Info

The Hamilton Wentworth and Halton Regions

The primary focus of the Ted Knott Chapter of Trout Unlimited is to protect the watersheds within Hamilton Wentworth and Halton regions that flow into Burlington Bay and Lake Ontario.

This area at the western end of Lake Ontario includes the scenic Niagara Escarpment, the cities of Hamilton and Burlington, the town of Oakville and several smaller  communities including  Milton, Halton Hills, and Flamborough.

Stewardship of the watersheds in the area is the responsibility of two different conservation authorities, the Hamilton Conservation Authority and Conservation Halton.
Included in the drainage area of the Hamilton Conservation Authority  is Spencer Creek and its tributaries, Fletcher, Sulphur, and Ancaster creeks. Bronte, Grindstone and Sixteen Mile creeks and their many tributaries are the responsibility of Conservation Halton.

The Ted Knott Chapter works in cooperation with these conservation authorities to achieve our goal of protecting this watershed.
