Temperature Monitoring
The Ted Knott Chapter began to monitor water temperatures in Bronte
Creek in 2006. Each spring, several temperature logging devices are
installed in sections of Bronte Creek and it's tributaries. These devices record the water temperature throughout the summer, and then are
collected in the fall for analysis.

The data collected from these devices will be used to monitor the ongoing health of
this ecosystem, and to identify key ground water
sources
that
create the cold water habitat found in this watershed. This data also
provides a baseline to be used for historical reference to monitor changes
resulting from development as well as stream rehabilitation projects.
